I was not quite sure what I was going to scrapbook using the Little Yellow Bicycle Fresh Print Clothesline collection. I then realized the vibrant colors and patterns were perfect to showcase some of my old photos of the flowers we had when we lived in Fredericksburg.

I have always enjoyed the vibrancy and beauty of flowers blooming in the Spring. I know the time is just around the corner when nature's beauty will begin to bloom!

The rub ons were so easy to apply and show beautifully on this white background.

My Love For You is Beyond Measure...

I decided for my second layout to play upon the ruler patterned paper to describe how my love for my children cannot be measured. I love this photo of them and the colors went great with their outfits.

I used rub ons directly on the patterned paper to complete my title. The texture of this patterned paper is fantastic and works so well as the background.

I hope these layouts will give you some ideas of how to use this colorful and versatile collection!

NEW! BasicGrey Page of the Month Class Series

BasicGrey is back with their popular Page of the month series! Each month you will have a 2 page layout with with the newest papers and embellishments from BasicGrey

There will be new themes with different journaling prompts (and alternate choices) so that you can scrap about whatever you want-and you can let imagination and creativity soar!

Classes start Tuesday, March 22 at 6:30pm. They will run approximately on the third Tuesday of each month. Cost is $22 for each class or you pay for the entire series up front and receive 5% off. If you are paying monthly, we ask that you commit for the entire year before signing up.

Good morning...

Sorry i didn't get this posted last night. The night got away from me and before i knew it, it was midnight.

Below is one of my latest creations. On one of my many antiquing adventures i came across this amazing album. It's a 10x10 record album set that used to house old records.

The houndstooth print is from My Minds Eye. The blue script paper and the colorful rub-on banner is October Afternoon. The vintage ledger is from my own stash of deliciousness. The blue ric-rac is American Crafts and the beautiful pink flower is from Prima.

Pages to Document a Year in a Child's Life

Learn how to make a cute and quick book to document a year in a child's life in classes at Scrapdoodles. Because it is simple, you can actually complete it in one afternoon. I have been making these every year for my nephew and he now loves to go back and look at the ones from when he was little. With just a few pictures and the answers to some basic questions, it provides a good summary of the year. There is a girl's version and a boy's version. These pictures show the girl's version; the boy's version is on display in the store.




Call the store at 540.548.3788 to sign up. The class is on February 22, 2011 at 10:30am. I look forward to seeing you there. Not only will you complete one book but you'll have the tools to make one every year or for other children. Bring your pictures or add them later.
