Design Team Wednesday - Pebbles Thirty One with Suzanna

T minus one and counting!! Just one more day until Halloween, are you ready? We procrastinated a little bit this year. We went to the pumpkin patch a lot later than we normally do. I'm just glad we made it there otherwise I would have had slim pickings for pictures to use with this awesome Halloween collection from Pebbles Inc!
If you are on the look out for THE perfect paper for your Halloween pictures, look no further! Thirty One by Pebbles Inc, available now at Scrapdoodles, is what you're looking for! Classy, classic, yet spooky, it has unique elements such as the orange, black and white flowers.
The triangle banner kit can be used on your page as I did here or for fun off the page decorations. Though packaged to go with the Thirty One collection, there is no reason you couldn't use it any other time of the year.
The foam glitter Thickers that accompany this collection are sublime! Perfect for that layout of Dracula or a visit to the haunted house! I put the first letter of each of our names on the pumpkin, THE pumpkin, that we brought home. As the layout is, there wasn't room for the title using the same letters so I cut out a title with my Cameo using a piece of the 6x6 pad. The snow white owl perched on the tag just wrapped things up nicely!
Another fantastic collection from Pebbles, don't you think? Be sure to stop by the blog as the design team is featuring Halloween layouts using Thirty One all week! If you're looking to pick up some of this for your stash, be sure to swing by the store and ask the ladies where it is!

Design Team Wednesday with Yvonne

Hello Friends!

As the weather begins to shifts and the air begins to chill, we are gently reminded that the holiday
season is creeping upon us... Woohoo!!!  And so the Christmas preparations begin!  I don't know about you, but if I don't get started right away, I'll never squeeze in the 1,000 projects I hope to accomplish before it's all over!  Between greeting cards, home decor, and hand-made presents... I really have no choice but to get rolling in my craft room right away!  Which means I start my holidays with a cup of pumpkin latte and a trip to Scrapdoodles, and neither of the two ever disappoint!

I'm proud to say that I have completed my very first holiday project!  My trip to the store was a huge success. They had all of my favorites in stock, so of course, I started with my "go-to" paper line, Graphic 45.
Taa-daa...

This Christmas pad is simply stunning, and gets you right in the holiday spirit!
I love that they have been adding these 4x6 images to their most recent collections.
They're so easy to work with, and the perfect size for so many projects...

My first project is a Mini Bi-Fold Shadowbox that I've had
stashed in my "someday I will alter" box!
Here it is...
The front
The back
Opened outside view
Opened inside view

That's all for now, but I've only just begun!  Be sure to visit
Scrapdoodles soon and check out all of the glorious pages in this collection before they are
all gone! Twelve Days of Christmas is one of Graphic 45's most elegant collections
and I doubt it will stay on the shelf for long!

Big Hugs my friends!
Yvonne

October Sketch Challenge - Have You Shared Your Layout?

Have you used our sketch yet?  I hope you do!
Here are two more outstanding layouts based on our exclusive Scrapdoodles sketch.
I've also just spied at least one layout over on our Facebook page - thanks for sharing Kelley!

Yvonne's Layout
Love the texture on Yvonne's wintry layout!  Notice how she turned the sketch and used just one photo.

Cheryl's Layout
Sweet gold doilie! Love how the large ornament is layered over the photos - so festive!

Here's the sketch again and the October Sketch Challenge details:
or Go to the Original Post to see more featured layouts and the Inlinkz to post your challenge entry!
Use this sketch as a jumping off point for creating your own layout.  Create a layout that follows the sketch exactly, flip or turn the sketch, or use just a few elements that you like.  Once you've created your layout, upload a photo of it here or to our Facebook page.  For an additional entry into the random prize drawing, visit Scrapdoodles and pick out some of the yummy papers featured in this week's Design Team post - We R Memory Keepers "Harvest" collection.  If you use any of the We R "Harvest" collection in your sketch challenge layout, you'll be entered twice for the random drawing.  This month's prize is a selection of We R Memory Keepers Albums Made Easy Journaling Cards.  The set will include cards from the "Harvest" collection (including the die cut variety!) and the Webster collection.  In order to be eligible for the drawing, you'll have to upload your layout photo to our Facebook page by midnight October 26th (2 weeks from now).  We hope you participate with us and share your layout!

Scrapdoodles Sketch Challenge!

Are you up for a scrappy challenge? We are hoping for lots of participation for what we hope to be a continuing series of layout sketch challenges hosted by the Scrapdoodles Design Team and friends.  The idea is simple - use our layout sketch (created exclusively for Scrapdoodles!) as a jumping off point for creating a layout of your own, then post a pic of your layout here on our blog or on our Facebook page so we can all "ooh" and "ahh" over your creativity.  That's it!  When the challenge is over (we'll give you 2 weeks), we will randomly pick a winner from all the participants and you'll win a small prize from Scrapdoodles.   Ready for some scrappy fun???

Here are the details for this month's Scrapdoodles Sketch Challenge:
This month's sketch is from DT Coordinator Karen Hunter.
October Sketch Challenge:

Here are Karen and Tessa's layouts to provide you with more inspiration for this sketch challenge.

Karen's Layout

Karen's layout features We R Memory Keepers "Harvest" collection.  Karen keeps it pretty close to the original sketch.  She uses several of the Albums Made Easy journaling cards (can you count all 5?), and an embossed die cut and embossed stickers from the collection.  One fun feature in this layout is the hidden journaling.  By applying adhesive to only 3 sides of the top 4x6 photo, Karen created a pocket to tuck in a journaling card and more space to tell the story behind her goofy family photos.

Tessa's Layout

Tessa used Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods collection for her layout.  She flipped her photos to portrait layout and omitted the smaller square photo.  She added her journaling to a die cut tag and embellished with the flair and sequins from the Into the Woods collection.

Now it's your turn.  How will you use this sketch?

Design Team Wednesday! - Layouts With We R's Harvest Collection

Oh, how I love the fall!  I love the tastes, the smells, the cooler temperatures, the beautiful colors!  It's my favorite season by far.  We R Memory Keeper's new "Harvest" collection is perfect for showcasing all your fall photos and projects.  I love the warm yellow mixed with steely blue and orange and black.  This collection also has some great patterns - weathered wood, chevrons, and more - a little bit "old" and a little bit "modern."  I've created two layouts to share with some Harvest papers and embellishments picked up at Scrapdoodles.  Come back on Friday for a third layout and a challenge for you!

For my first layout, I began with the awesome orange chevron paper. I love how this paper is lighter at the top and gradually gets to a darker orange/brown at the bottom - a great ombre effect that really adds interest to the layout.  The large 4x6 card is from the Harvest Albums Made Easy collection (must get this!!!).  I added a bit of tiny rhinestones and glitter to the flowers in the card to dress them up. Next, I embellished the bottom title strip (cut from one of the 12x12 sheets) with a border and simple twine threaded through.  Notice how I notched the ends?  I used a standard hole punch to do this.  It adds interest and keeps my twine exactly where I want it.  The "who, when, where" journaling bits are from another strip from that same 12x12 sheet.  I added a few embossed stickers to complete this layout.
For my second layout I chose the weathered wood sheet for my background and was inspired by the circle die cut card (the weathered blue towards the lower left). I cut a larger, similar circle pattern out of the coordinating golden yellow cardstock.  I used my Cricut for this, but I see the Silhouette store also has a similar pattern.  I ended up sewing some zigzag stitches with my sewing machine down the right of the page.  In total, I used 4 cards from the Albums Made Easy Harvest set.  Even if you are not a Project Life-r, these cards look great on regular 12x12 layouts - perfect for layering and using as journaling boxes.  Add a few of those awesome embossed stickers and this layout is "pure bliss."  If you like fall colors as much as I do, you'll want to grab some of this awesome Harvest collection by We R Memory Keepers soon.

As I mentioned, I did create a 3rd layout, but I'm saving it for Friday.  Do you like layout sketches?  Come back on Friday for a Scrapdoodles Layout Sketch Challenge!  You'll have about 2 weeks to play along and there will be a prize (randomly selected from all participants).  I hope you'll join in the fun!  Details on Friday!

Design Team Wednesday- A Couple of Fall Cards

Hello and happy Wednesday!  I'm so glad to be guesting with the Scrapdoodles design team today and have created a couple of cards to share.  I chose two cute stamp sets from Darcie's Heart and Home and some adorable patterned papers from Lawn Fawn to create these cards:

This first one uses the Pile of Fun stamp set:

I love this image!  Darcie's Heart and Home gives you so many options- cling rubber or clear acrylic in each of the sets we have at the store.  They also added pigtails to the set so you can make it a boy or a girl- isn't that clever! I made mine a little girl and had so much fun coloring her.  I used my colored pencils and really love how easy they are to blend.  If you have trouble with Copics, these are another great option for coloring!

I chose the Plenty of Fun set for my second card:

Isn't this little turkey cute?  I couldn't walk out of the store without him! lol!  I used colored pencils again to color the image- they worked great on the kraft cardstock.  I chose colors that would go along with the patterned papers from the Into the Woods collection from Lawn Fawn.  Using your patterned papers as inspiration for your colors is a great place to start if you are having a hard time.

I had so much fun stamping with the adorable sets by Darcie's Heart and Home.  I think I'll stop by the store and pick out a couple images for wintertime, too!

Thanks for popping by the blog today!
