From the minute Elle announced her new collection on FaceBook I have been smitten!! Cameron screams boy summer fun!! Summer fun! Boy fun! Interpret that sentence any which way it applies! (Come on now ladies, I scrap and help people with their pain; grammar is not my thing!). The bright bold colors and upbeat sentiments are right up my alley!
One of the hot trends right now is to use the opposing top and bottom corners of a page. The white on orange polka dots made a perfect background that accentuates that look. I tried the stark white that is so often seen with this trend but it didn't pop the pictures or bright elements in this collection.
I used the big chevron patterned paper to create a frame for this picture then used some of the tags and stamps to dress it up some. The chevron tip created an arrow of sorts that visually draws your eye into the picture and focuses on my son. Though I edited the picture to put the emphasis on him, the picture still needed some help in knowing just who of the many kids there to focus on.
Another great way to draw your eye to something is the Polaroid frame. Tried and true, nothing new there. Busted! He had realized at this point that I was there and taking pictures!
I have to be honest here and tell you that the journal spot didn't turn out as planned… My trial run had the print aligned in the center of the tag. As you can see from the final product, it didn't replicate on my one and only tag! No worries, date stamps to the rescue!
The giant title across the page was quick and easy to create. I fussy cut each of the letters and alternately popped each one with a Tombow Power Tab. Those things are amazing! I love that hint of depth and dimension as opposed to some of the other dimensional adhesives that make things look like a skyscrapper sticking out in a cityscape. There weren't enough A's for my title so being thrifty (or cheap!) and not wanting to cut into another piece of paper just for one letter, I made my own. Can you spot which one?
