Organizing Photos Class--It's Now or Never Updated Time

How many photos are on your computer? Can you find what you want? Five years from now will you be able to find a photo if you don’t remember exactly when you took it? Many of us are downloading photos from our camera and assume since it’s on our computer we’ll be able to find it when we want it. Or that if they are filed by date that is good enough? However, since most of us take even more digital photos than we did with print in a few years finding photos on our computer will be just as overwhelming as those boxes of print photos.

Without a doubt the computer offers us better ways to organize and retrieve our photos, but we must organize and label them correctly to be able to take advantage of these possibilities. In this class, you will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop Elements to organize all your photos so that no matter what picture pictures you want to find, you’ll always be able to find them. You’ll be able to find
• every picture of your son
• every picture at your mother’s house
• every Easter picture.

The class will be offered by Kathy Bryant at Scrapdoodles on June 4, 2011 from 1:30pm - 3:30pm. The cost will be $20.00. Call 540.548.3788 to sign up.

Attendees will learn the basics of organizing photos on a computer, including the lingo, and develop an organizational system that works for their photos. Participants do not need to have Photoshop Elements in advance of the class, but the techniques taught are specific to this software. (This software can also be used for organizing scrapbook supplies and editing photos.) This class will help participants determine whether this software would be beneficial for them. Participants will be provided a list of resources about organizing photos, a sample organizational chart and a CD containing a basic system to be modified for their use.
