Design Team Inspiration - Bright Colors for your Layouts and Home Decor

Visit my Blog for step by step directions to create this fun pinwheel garland or table decorations (pictured below) using American Crafts double sided papers.

I am loving the bright colors and fun patterns I find in the aisles of the store right now!  It seems every corner I turn is something totally yummy to take home and create with.  Today I have a few of my recent creations to share.  I was going to bring the pinwheels into the store, but decided they are too cute and I want them on my door and table for Easter.  Visit my blog for more pictures and details on how to make your own.  The awesome papers I used are made by American Crafts.  I'm pretty sure I used up every possible scrap of the 4 double-sided papers I picked up.  I also created the "Tweet-Tweet" layout with some of these papers and the coordinating stickers.  I found that the stickers - like the cloud I used on the layout - were big enough and had enough white space to double as a journaling block.  I'm a big fan of craft supplies that can pull double duty!

I was drawn to the beautiful colors of Cosmo Cricket's "Salt Air" line, but a little wary of the bold patterns that seemed to only apply to a swimming or water-themed layout.  Maybe you've seen them in the store and passed them by, too, not sure what to do with them.  Well, go back and get some!  I picked up my favorite colors and some sweet coordinating buttons and took them home. When I started playing with them, I found that I could easily combine the patterns as long as I kept the layout fairly simple.  I also ended up inking the edges a bit to give them more definition against each other.  My daughter's "lady-like" behavior seemed to go well with the bold prints.  Do you think she'll forgive me for posting her silly photos in blog-land?   I hope so - I think it's a favorite layout of mine!

Adorable layouts, and I love the clothes line. :) Your little Hannah is looking more and more like a big girl. Make it stop!
