At each meeting, the theme for the next month will be announced. Themed swaps are a great way to see how multiple artists interpret the same basic concept, theme or assignment. You can interpret a theme any way you like.
I don’t know about you but I’ve been dreaming about spring for the last few days so for our first meeting our theme will be Springtime! Bring 5 cards to swap- all the same, utterly different, or anywhere in between. They should be of traditional ATC-size: 3.5” x 2.5”.
And, so we can put a face to the designs, please put your name, the date, and the card title (if applicable) on the back side of your cards. You may include other information, such as your city/state location, the materials used, or your blog address if you’d like.
You should only turn in cards representing your very best work--cards that you'd be pleased to receive yourself. Cards that are flimsy, incomplete or grubby, or that have pieces falling or peeling off, may be returned to for additional work.
The day of the swap, bring your five cards in an envelope with your name on it. Drop them off with the Swap Coordinator at the beginning of the meeting. She will divide them up while we are playing with the days demo goodies and then we will get our envelopes back with different cards in them. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to participate, please drop your cards off at the store prior to the meeting time. You will be able to pick them up after 2:30 that afternoon.
